The Vivo S1 comes with 6.38-inches super AMOLED display with the resolution of 1080 pixels by 2340. It has 7th gen in-display fingerprint sensor and comes with waterdrop notch, For now, Vivo has launched three variants for Vivo S1,

Design and Display Quality

Talking about the design, I must say Vivo S1 is the best-looking smartphone available in the market below 20k and specifically the black color variant because it has a diamond background on the rear side and that gives you a premium feel. Like many other smartphones, Vivo S1 also comes with polycarbonate back which is of course plastic.

I think it has a great design as well as great build quality, so you don’t need to worry about these two things.

Now coming to the Display quality, the phone comes with 6.38-inches super AMOLED display and yes it has waterdrop notch. The display panel is great on this device but if Vivo has provided a Full view display then it would be a great deal because right now we have phones like RealMe X, Redmi K20, and Honor 20i, all these phones have full view display with the pop-up selfie camera setup.

So yes if you want Full view display then Vivo S1 is not the phone you are looking for. By the way, It has great display quality and as I have said it’s AMOLED screen which means you will get Always on option.

Now if you can work with waterdrop notch then Vivo S1 is a great phone but if you can’t then take look at RealMe X or Honor 20i.

Performance and Price

Now let’s talk about the most important part, under the hood, it has MediaTek Helio P65 chipset which is built 12 nm technology with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU and octa-core 2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.7 GHz Cortex-A55 CPU. It’s running on Funouch OS 9 based on Android 9.0 (Pie).

Basically, Helio P65 is better chipset then Helio P60 & P70 which means you will get the best possible result. I have also played games like PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), Asphalt 9 legends, Modern Combat 5, Garena Free Fire and many other games. For now, I haven’t face any problem while games, which means Helio P65 can handle almost every games.

The only problem I had is Funouch OS, yes belive or not Funouch OS is the worst UI or OS that I ever used on a smartphone. Vivo is trying their best to give you best result but personally, I’m not a big fan of Funouch OS. So if you can deal with complicated UI then there is nothing to worry about.

The price for Vivo S1 is mentioned above. Okay, of course, price is a little bit higher but this is what Vivo is known for right, so if you have used Vivo phone earlier then I don’t think the price is an issue for you.

But if you are one of those people who want the best phone at budget price range then you can take a look at RealMe X, Vivo Z1 Pro, Honor Y9 Prime, Realme 3 Pro…

Overall It has good chipset but it doesn’t worth 17k price tag.

Cameras

As we all know Vivo is well known for their selfie cameras and this is what Vivo has to offer with Vivo S1, it has 32-megapixel selfie camera setup with F/2.0 aperture and I must say Vivo has done it great job in front-facing camera setup. Now I can clearly say, Vivo S1 has the best selfie camera setup below 20K.

Talking about rear camera setup, Vivo S1 has a 16-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with F/2.2 aperture, and 2-megapixel depth sensor with F/2.4 aperture. And this is where Vivo S1 failed, it’s not like, Vivo S1 has worst rear camera setup but considering the price tag, it doesn’t give you best possible result the best result.

The Vivo S1 can’t even shoot video in 4K resolution and there is no EIS support which means Videos will be shaky. So if you are looking for a camera phone and you want the best camera setup below 20k then I don’t think Vivo S1 is for you.

No doubt it has a great front-facing camera setup but when it’s come to the rear camera, Vivo S1 suffer a little bit in low lighting conditions and even in good lighting condition. The phone also has dedicated 2-megapixel depth sensor but still, I feel like portrait shot is not that great.

Just saying, if you only want a phone for day to day use and work with a decent rear camera then don’t think too much and open Amazon India page and grab Vivo S1 right now.

Battery Life

The phone is packed with 4,500 mAh non-removable battery and it also has 18W fast charging support but it doesn’t have the USB Type-C port. The phone will last all day and if in case you consume all the power then you can always use 18W charger to charge Vivo S1.

Note Battery life will depend on your daily uses like what kind of games you are playing, how much time you spend on mobile phone etc.

Conclusion

Now it’s time to reveal the answer, so yes you can’t buy Vivo S1, just joking. Right we have phones like RealMe X, Redmi K20, Honor Y9 Prime, OPPO K3, and Honor 9X series is also coming very soon, so want to buy a new smartphone and you can invest 20k then just go with RealMe X because that will give all the thing that is not present on Vivo S1.

Now the choice is all yours, if you only want Vivo branded phone then Vivo S1 is the best phone that you can buy right now.
