Redmi Note 11T 5G Review with Pros and Cons – Big letdown?
Xiaomi is back with the all-new Redmi Note 11 Series, they have just launched the Redmi Note 11T 5G in India and this is the same phone which was launched in China as Redmi Note 11.
The Redmi Note 11T 5G does have its Pros and Cons which we will discuss in the review. So let’s see, what Redmi is giving at 15k and what not? but before that let me share with you the India Price of the Redmi Note 11T 5G.
Redmi Note 11T 5G Price in India
Redmi Note 11T 5G price in India starts from Rs 14,999 Rs 16,999 for 4GB of Ram and 64GB storage, 6GB Ram and 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 15,999 while another 8GB of Ram and 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 17,999 in India.

Redmi Note 11T 5G Review
Redmi Note 11T 5G is worth buying but Redmi has done some compromises which can be a huge letdown for some users. The device has an LCD display, cameras are also decent and it’s a bit pricey compared to other smartphones. Overall, the Redmi Note 11T is a good smartphone which could have been great…
Update: It doesn’t make any sense to buy Redmi Note 11T 5G because now we have POCO M4 Pro 5G at Rs 14,999. Skip the Redmi Note 11T 5G and take look at either Moto G51 5G or POCO M4 Pro 5G.
It has a 50MP + 8MP rear camera while there is a 16MP front. The cameras are not great, it loses out on details and the colors are a bit saturated.

Also, the MIUI is not well-optimized, sometimes, you will see frame drops here and there. Again, Xiaomi went with an LCD instant of AMOLED which is not a good thing for a 15K smartphone.
Overall, I would recommend you to skip the Redmi Note 11T and wait for other devices, or if you can get this phone at around 13k to 14k then go for it.
Redmi Note 11T Pros and Cons
PROS | CONS |
---|---|
MediaTek Dimensity 810 | Unoptimized OS |
Stereo Speakers | Decent Cameras |
7 5G Bands | Plastic Build |
3.5mm Audio Jack | LCD Display |
Solid Battery Life | Bit Pricey |
These were the Pros and Cons of Redmi Note 11T 5G, now let’s go deep down and see, what Redmi has to offer.
Display Quality
Redmi Note 11T 5G comes with a 90Hz 6.60-inches FHD+ LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Now, we have seen LCD display on Redmi phones but this time, Redmi didn’t deliver the same display panel.
This is Rs 14,999 Rs 16,999 smartphone and it should have come with an AMOLED display but it didn’t, Redmi went with an LCD. There is nothing wrong with the LCD panel but this time, it looks like, the display quality has been compromised.
When you’re using a smartphone facing yourself, the display looks amazing, the colors are also good but when you see the display from the side or when tilt the display bit, the colors fade out a little bit.

Also, most of the LCD panels do the same thing but somehow, Redmi Note 11T 5G display viewing angle is not that great.
Now, normal users won’t notice this problem but if you’re that person who wants the best display then this is not the best smartphone to go with. Also, when you pay 15k, one should get a great display and not a good one.
By the way, the device has a plastic back and the phone frames are also made out of plastic.
Overall, the Redmi Note 11T has a good quality display and is not the best display under Rs 15,000. If you want an AMOLED display then you can also take look at Redmi Note 10S or consider the newly launched Motorola G31.
Cameras
The Redmi Note 11T 5G Comes with a 50MP primary sensor + 8MP ultra-wide lens and 16MP selfie shooter. The rear cameras can shoot videos up to [email protected] while the front can shoot up to [email protected]
The phone doesn’t have OIS support but it doesn’t have EIS which uses the software for video stabilization.
For the first time, Redmi didn’t add 2MP+2MP sensors on the smartphone which is a good thing but also, they didn’t optimize the cameras as well.

The ultra-wide lens provides good images under the good lights but even after that, images come out a bit softer. While the images also, miss out on details too.
Coming to the primary sensor, Redmi has used a Samsung sensor and this is a larger 50MP sensor but the thing is, Redmi hasn’t taken advantage of the bigger sensor.
When there are good lights or let’s say when images are captured under the sunlight, the photos do come out good but when there is low light, the images lose out on details.
Also, somehow, the camera tries to boost the colors which could be good for some users but for those users who like natural colors will be disappointed with the camera performance.
I have seen the same images quality with budget smartphones and most of the users were happy but now the time has changed. So I feel, Redmi needs to work on cameras because this is not a 10k smartphone.
Here comes the 16MP selfie shooter, hear me out…
I feel, most people will like the front camera because it tries to whiten the images. So yes, you won’t get the natural colors, it will be oversaturated and soften.
Also, as I have said, Redmi is charging extra money for the new chipset and that’s it. There is nothing new in Redmi Note 11T 5G that makes this 15k smartphone.
Also, we’re facing a chip shortage. So this could be the reason why Redmi is charging extra money.
Overall, Redmi Note 11T 5G has good cameras and it can be improved with the OTA update but it also depends on the Redmi, whether they gonna do it or not.
Performance
The Redmi Note 11T 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC and runs on MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 and it will get an Android 12 update very soon.
The new MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G is a good chipset and it can handle almost every single game without any problem. Now the problem with MIUI…
We all know, that MIUI had tons of bugs and the same can be found on Redmi Note 11T 5G too.

Sometimes, switching between the apps, you will see the frame drop or the display will freeze for a micro-second.
This is not the problem with the chipset, it’s all because of the MIUI.
MIUI is a very heavy OS and it needs a powerful chipset to run smoothly but Xiaomi is putting the same OS on all smartphones whether it’s 10k or 70k.
Here I feel, whether they should optimize the MIUI or launch another OS for just budget smartphones like what Samsung has done with OneUI.
By the way, the Redmi Note 11T does have 5G support, and its supports around 7 5G bands which include n1, n3, n5, n8, n2, n40, and n78.
Overall, Redmi Note 11T 5G is a good smartphone for gaming but still, Redmi needs to fix the MIUI for smooth performance. Also, there won’t be any huge problems while using this smartphone as a daily driver.
Audio Quality
It has stereo speakers which is another plus point. The speakers are also good, there won’t be any issues while watching YouTube Videos or movies without earphones.
The device has a 3.5mm audio jack which means, you can use wired earphones. There is also an IR blaster present on the top which can use used to control AC, TV, or any other product.
The Redmi Note 11T 5G has two microphones which will help a lot in calling.
Overall, considering the price tag, Redmi has done the best job in the audio department.
Battery Life
The Redmi Note 11T 5G comes with a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support and yes, a 33W charger is supplied in the box.
As I have said many times, the battery life depends on users by users. If the user is playing games for five to six hours then he or she needs to charge the device two times a day otherwise, the device will last for a day without any issue.

Verdict
The Redmi Note 10T 5G is a big letdown from Redmi. The phone could have been the best smartphone under Rs 15,000 but because of the cameras and OS, it ended up good smartphone under 15k.
I would recommend you to go with the Redmi Note 10S but keep in mind, this phone doesn’t have 5G. Also, you can take look at Moto G31 (review) which also doesn’t have 5G.
Here, you have to decide, whether you want the best 4G smartphone or a decent 5G smartphone?
