RealMe GT 5G review with Pros and Cons – Overpriced?
RealMe GT Series is here and this new series will replace the existing RealMe X Series, this means, now RealMe won’t launch any smartphones under the X series.
The RealMe GT 5G is kind of similar to the RealMe X7 Max 5G because RealMe has just changed the chipset and everything else is the same on GT 5G. I will compare both the phone’s letters in this review.
So let’s review the RealMe GT 5G and find out its Pros and Cons but before that let me share with you the India price.

RealMe GT 5G Review
No, doubt RealMe GT 5G is overpriced. The phone doesn’t have the best camera but it does have a powerful processor along with a smooth 120Hz AMOLED display. The Screen also gets very bright, also it has massive 65W fast charging support. Overall, RealMe GT 5G is not worth the Rs 37,999 price tag, it should have launched below 35k.

RealMe GT 5G Display Quality
The RealMe GT 5G comes with a 6.43-inches FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display. It has a pick brightness of 1000 nits and a 360-touch sampling rate.
It also has Widivine L1 support which means you will be able to watch FHD+ content on OTT platforms but for some reason, It doesn’t support HDR content on Netflix or even Prime Video.
Also, most of the RealMe smartphones don’t support HDR+ content on Paid OTT apps and this needs to be fixed because RealMe GT 5G is not a budget smartphone.
By the way, there won’t be any kind of problem while using the device outdoors because it has a pick brightness of 1000 nits.
Also, RealMe hasn’t said, what kind of display protection they have used on RealMe GT 5G. So if you buy this smartphone, make sure you use good quality tempered glass.
Overall, the phone has a good quality display panel and there won’t be any kind of problem while watching movies or playing games.
RealMe GT 5G Cameras
This is where things get tricky. The RealMe GT 5G comes with a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 2MP depth sensor while there is a 16MP selfie shooter.
The rear camera can shoot videos up to [email protected] and the front can record up to [email protected] It doesn’t have OIS support but it does have EIS support.
Again, this is not a budget smartphone, so RealMe should have added OIS support. So don’t try to use [email protected] because the footage will come up shaky, always use [email protected]/60fps for better results.
As always, the colors don’t come out naturally, the sensors try to oversaturate the colors. So, RealMe needs to work on the camera, they can’t just provide the same image quality as the 25k smartphones.
Coming to 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor, this is a good sensor but RealMe didn’t take full advantage.

Again, if you like oversaturated colours then you will love this smartphone but if you’re that person who wants close to natural colours then you might not like the way, RealMe GT 5G produces the images.
It also has an 8MP ultra-wide lens which does what is suppose to do. As this is a smaller sensor, it misses out on details and when taking images at night, the images come out with noise.
In short, don’t try to use an Ultra-Wide lens at night, always go for the primary sensor. Let’s just forget about the 2MP depth sensor and talk about the 16MP selfie shooter.
Overall, don’t expect much from the front camera, it does provide good images with good living but when it comes to night photography, you will be disappointed.
In short, don’t buy RealMe GT 5G for Cameras, buy for Snapdragon 888 Processor. Taling about the chipset, let jump to the performance.
RealMe GT 5G Performance
We have seen many smartphones with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and there is nothing to say about the chipset. The RealMe GT 5G also has the Snapdragon 888 SoC, so there is nothing to worry about performance.
The RealMe GT 5G is running on RealMe UI 2.0-based on Android 11. Now, the phone does come with lots of pre-installed apps and the UI also has ads that can be disabled from the setting but not 100%.

Talking about 5G, the phone has about seven 5G bands which include n77, 78, 79, 38, 40, 41(2496-2690MHz), 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28.
This means, there won’t be any problem when 5G launches in India, the phone will be able to take advantage of the 5G network.
In short, don’t worry about performance, the RealMe GT 5G has the best chipset inside.
RealMe GT 5G Battery Life
The RealMe GT 5G comes with a 4,500 mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. The 65W charger will take about 35 minutes to charge from 0% to 100%.
The battery life depends on users by the user but for casual users, the phone will easily last for a day but if you heavy user then is ready to change the phone twice a day.
Again, the phone has massive 65W charging support, so there won’t be any problem even if you run out of battery.
RealMe GT 5G Audio Quality
The RealMe GT 5G comes with Stereo Speaker which performs very good. Also, the device also has a secondary noise cancellation microphone which will ensure good call quality.
Here comes the good news, the RealMe GT 5G does have a 3.5mm Audio jack. So you will be able to use wired earphones or if you like, use TWS earbuds too.
If not RealMe GT 5G? Alternatives
As you can tell after reading the RealMe GT 5G Review, this is not the best smartphone to buy for Under Rs 40000. So if not, RealMe GT 5G then which is the best smartphone?
We have options like Moto Edge 20, IQOO 7 Legend, Mi 11X Pro and even Vivo X60 Pro.
From that list, I would recommend, IQOO 7 Legend or if you don’t want to spend 40k then you can also go with Moto Edge 20 which is priced at Rs 29,999.
RealMe X7 Max 5G vs RealMe GT 5G
As you can tell from the specs of RealMe X7 Max and RealMe GT 5G, there is no huge difference except the processor.
