RealMe 9i 5G Review
No, the RealMe 9i 5G is not worth buying because we have tons of better smartphones that offer better value compared to this smartphone, like the POCO M4 Pro 5G which offers faster-charging support, better display, and even an Ultra-Wide lens, so it doesn’t make any sense to pay the same amount for the RealMe 9i 5G
The RealMe 9i 5G also has the same specs as RealMe Narzo 50 5G which is priced at Rs 15,999, so yes, RealMe is making a huge mess, they’re going with quantity rather than the quality
As you can see the difference between RealMe 9i 5G, POCO M4 Pro 5G, and RealMe Narzo 50 5G.
Overall, there wasn’t a need for RealMe 9i 5G but this is business, so RealMe has launched RealMe 9i 5G in India, now, it’s up to you whether you wanted to buy this device or not.
RealMe 9i 5G Pros and Cons
PROS | CONS |
---|---|
Dedicated SD Card Slot | LCD Panel |
MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC | Screen Brightness is a bit low |
8 5G Bands | Plastic Build |
Camera2Api Supported | Only 18W Charging Support |
Carrier aggregation | Average Cameras |
Widevine L1 Supported | No Ultra-Wide Lens |
3.5mm Audio Jack | Single Speaker |
Bit Pricey |
Display
The RealMe 9i 5G comes with a 6.60-inches 90Hz display with a resolution of 2408 x 1080 Pixels and a pick brightness of 400 nits Brightness. The rear and frame are made out of plastic while there is glass on the front but RealMe didn’t say anything about what kind of glass protection they have used on the front
The 400 nits brightness is not that great, RealMe should have at least gone with 600 nits. The screen is visible under the sunlight but sometimes, it gets hard to see the texts if you’re standing in the SUN direction.

The build quality is also not that great, plastic doesn’t give you a good vibe while holding the device. Also, that waterdrop notch doesn’t give good vibe, especially in 2022.
RealMe had added the Widevine L1 Support which means, you will be able to watch FHD+ content on OTT platforms.
Overall, for the price of Rs 14999, the display could have been better.
Cameras
It comes with a 50MP primary sensor, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor while there is an 8MP selfie shooter on the front. The rear, as well as the front camera, can shoot videos at only [email protected]
Now, first of all, those 2MP+2MP sensors won’t do much, so if you can ignore them, these sensors will look good on the rear side but they’re useless.
Coming to the 50MP primary sensor,
Here too, RealMe needs to work because the sensor has some kind of dynamic range issue, it overexposes the background for no reason. Now, it doesn’t happen every single time but when it happens, you will get angry with the smartphone.
It’s not the most reliable camera out there, so you have to compromise something if you want to get the MediaTek Dimensity 810.

The colors are also not that great, there is softness when you click images under low lights while under good lighting, the images come out a bit saturated.
Talking about the videos, you will be disappointed with its quality, as the phone doesn’t have the OIS and RealMe didn’t work much on the sensor, so yes, the videos come out unstable even with [email protected]
That 8MP sensor is also for showcase, it takes good images under good lighting but when it comes to low lighting, it provides decent images.
Overall, RealMe should have added Ultra-Wide instant of 2MP+MP sensor or they should have worked on the primary sensor.
Performance
The RealMe 9i 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 810 6nm processor and its runs on RealMe UI 3.0 based on Android 12, there are no words for future updates but seeing the RealMe’s record, the device should get Android 13.
The device has 6 5G bands including n1, n5, n8, n28A, n41, n77,n7, and n78.
By the way, the MediaTek Dimensity 810 is a good processor for decent gaming and there won’t be any kind of issue while using the smartphone in day-to-day life.
The RealMe UI is far better compared to MIUI, so you won’t face any kind of frame drop or any other issue while watching movies or even playing games.
Overall, you will be more than happy with its performance. You can also buy this device for gaming too but don’t expect heavy gaming as the processor is not made for especially gaming.
Audio
RealMe has only added a single speaker which works well but hey, it can’t match the stereo speaker quality, so yes, RealMe has done cost-cutting in the speakers.
Now, the device does have Carrier aggregation support and even a secondary noise cancellation microphone.
Overall, the audio quality could have been better.
Battery
We’re seeing 50W and even 33W fast charging at Rs 15000 price tag but RealMe went with only 187W charging support which is not acceptable at all.
By the way, the phone has a 5000mAh battery along with 18W charging support and yes, the charger is supplied in the box.
As I have said many times, the battery life depends on users by users. If the user is playing games for five to six hours then he or she needs to charge the device two times a day otherwise, the device will last for a day without any issue.
Verdict
I think you already know the answer but still,
The RealMe 9i 5G doesn’t provide Real Value, it’s a bit pricey compared to what we’re getting under Rs 15000 while RealMe has made tons of compromises which is hard to digest.
