RealMe 10 Pro 5G Review
Images by Tech Master

Hate to say it but RealMe didn’t change much in RealMe 10 Pro 5G compared to RealMe 9 Pro 5G. They just changed the design and the rest is the same as the last gen.

RealMe 10 Pro 5G Price in India

  • 6GB Ram + 128GB storage: Rs 18,999
  • 8GB Ram + 128GB storage: Rs 19,999

The device is available in Dark Matter, Hyperspace Gold, and Nebula Blue color options and it will go for sale on 14th December 2022 via Flipkart at noon.

Amazon and Flipkart Republic Day Sale 2023 is live, so if you wanted to buy something then this is the best chance otherwise, you will have to wait till the 2023 Diwali sale.

RealMe 10 Pro 5G Review

No, the RealMe 10 Pro 5G is not worth buying because its a straight-up re-brand of the RealMe 9 Pro 5G, RealMe has just charged the design while the processor is the same, cameras are downgraded, plastic build, LCD panel, and still, they’re charging Rs 18999 which is not justifiable at all.

In short, get RealMe 9 Pro 5G instant of RealMe 10 Pro 5G and save some money because you’re not getting anything new. Let me show you,

As you can see, the RealMe 9 Pro 5G is far better and chapter compared to the newly launched RealMe 10 Pro 5G.

Concluding everything from price to features, RealMe 10 Pro 5G is the worst mobile upgrade ever in the history of Mobiles, so don’t carry away by the design and see what RealMe is offering you on paper.

Display

RealMe 10 Pro 5G Image 9

RealMe 10 Pro Plus 5G’s selling point was Display but the same can’t be said for the RealMe 10 Pro 5G.

The device comes with a 6.72-inches IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and pick a brightness of 680 nits and 392ppi density.

RealMe 10 Pro 5G Image 3

This is the end of 2022, so it makes sense to use an AMOLED panel when a smartphone is priced at 19k but as per RealMe, we still are living in 2019.

Again, RealMe didn’t mention what kind of glass they used for display protection while the back and frame are made from plastic. By the way, the back plastic is glossy, so it will leave fingerprints very easily.

RealMe 10 Pro 5G Image 5

The screen brightness is kind of okay, it could have been better but still, the 680 nits will ensure that you will see every single text under the sunlight.

Now, the display bezels are small, like very small except for the bottom chin. The Top, left and right side bezels are very thin and look beautiful until you see the bottom chin, it’s huge.

RealMe 10 Pro 5G Image 11

Also, as the phone has an LCD panel, RealMe has added the side-mounted fingerprint sensor which works fine without any problem

Overall, an LCD display on a 19k smartphone doesn’t make any sense, nonetheless, this is what it is. The RealMe 10 Pro 5G doesn’t have the best display, it’s a good panel to watch movies or even play games but not the best for the price it comes.

Performance

RealMe 10 Pro 5G Image 4

Snapdragon 695 is a well-tested processor, so there is nothing much to talk about. It’s a decent processor for normal usage, it’s not a gaming processor.

In short, if you want to buy a smartphone for gaming then skip the RealMe 10 Pro and consider the RealMe 9 SE 5G.

The RealMe 10 Pro 5G is running on RealMe UI 4.0 based on Android 13. Now, there is no word from RealMe about future Updates but as per their past record, the phone should get an Android 14 update.

RealMe 10 Pro 5G Image 15

Now, I have said the same on RealMe 10 Pro Plus 5G Review and I will add the same here,

RealMe has added hall lot of pre-installed apps in the RealMe 10 Pro along with the app, the phone also has ads in the UI from stock apps to the system search.

Now, you can disable the ads (not 100%) but the ads will show up by default to everyone. The problem is, every user won’t know how to disable ads, so they will use it like that.

RealMe 10 Pro Plus 5G Ads in the File Manager

Related: 5 Best Smartphones Under Rs 15,000

In short, this is not a good user experience even after paying Rs 18,999. The ad situation is worst compared to RealMe 3.0, I hope, RealMe works this out.

The device comes with 7 5G Bands, so yes, you will able to take advantage of the 5G network whenever it launches in your city.

Overall, Snapdragon 695 is a good processor for day-to-day usage but it’s not the best option for gaming. You can play a little bit of gaming but the phone will get hot after 30 minutes of gameplay.

Cameras

RealMe 10 Pro 5G Image 6

I don’t have words to describe how bad the camera implementation of RealMe 10 Pro 5G is, nonetheless, I will try my best.

Get ready,

The RealMe 10 Pro 5G comes with 108MP primary sensor and 2MP depth sensor while a 16MP selfie shooter is on the front. Both the front and rear cameras can shoot videos at [email protected]

Why only 1080p because the Snapdragon 695 only supports up to 1080p, that’s the limitation of the processor.

Now, let’s ignore the 2MP depth sensor because it’s added so, the phone looks better from the rear.

The 108MP primary sensor is average, it does take good images under good lights but when there is low light or taking images at night then the sensor suffers a lot while the night images are not even useable.

So yes, 108MP looks amazing on paper but it doesn’t even look good in real-life usage.

Also, just like every single RealMe Smartphone, the primary sensor does add saturated colors, ex; the red color will look redder and the same for the rest.

The sensor softens the images too, so if you capture an image of your friend then he/she won’t look natural, there will be a white tint.

Back to the 16MP front camera,

One thing is for sure, you will look white when you take a selfie from the front camera, there is no need to add any filter.

By the way, RealMe is a kind of sub-brand of OPPO, so you will get all the selfie features from battery mode to all the filters.

In short, don’t expect natural colors even from the front camera.

Overall, RealMe should have added the Ultra-Wide lens because of this 19k smartphone. The rest of the sensors are good but RealMe didn’t optimize them well, I hope they improve the cameras otherwise, users who will buy this phone will feel cheated.

Audio

RealMe 10 Pro 5G Image 14

The RealMe 10 Pro has a stereo speaker which works fine, no issue there but keep in mind, the 60% of the volume comes from the bottom speaker while 30% comes from the top speaker which is not a good experience.

Still, the dual speakers are good, loud and clear too.

RealMe has also added secondary noise cancellation microphone and even Carrier Aggregation which helps a lot in calling.

One more thing, yes, the phone also has a 3.5mm audio jack. It’s surprising but it’s there…

Battery

RealMe 10 Pro 5G Image 8

The Snapdragon 695 is battery efficient processor, so expect the battery to last for more than a day but if you’re a heavy user then get ready to charge the device twice a day.

The phone has a 4,870mAh battery and it supports 33W fast charging. It will take about 74 minutes to charge from 0% to 100%.

Now, I have provided the rough numbers, so the real battery life can change user by user.

Summary

RealMe 10 Pro 5G is not worth an upgrade, it’s a downgrade from RealMe 9 Pro 5G. So it’s better to save some money and skip the RealMe 10 Pro 5G because it doesn’t make any sense to premium for the same device.

3.3
