OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G Review
OPPO is known for cameras and the same can be seen in Reno 6 Pro 5G but it also misses out on some of the camera features. The device gives solid battery life which also supported 65W wired fast charging while it can perform very good in gaming as this is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. Overall, considering the price tag, Reno 6 Pro 5G is worth looking at.
OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G Pros and Cons
PROS | CONS |
---|---|
Massive 65W Fast Charging | No OIS |
Impressive Camera Setup | Bit pricey |
IP54 water and dust resistance | No Stereo Speakers |
11 5G Bands | No 3.5mm Audio Jack |
90Hz HDR AMOLED Display | No SD-Card Slot |
Powerful MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC | |
Refreshing Design |
That was the Pros and Cons of OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G and now let’s take look at what OPPO is offering you at a 40k price tag.
Display Quality
The OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G comes with a 6.55-inches 90Hz AMOLED display and Peak Brightness of 800 nits. The front display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
It also has Widevine L1 support that means the device has stream FHD+ content on OTT platforms. By the way, the display is HDR10+ certified and it can stream HDR content on all the major OTT platforms.
Now, OPPO has provided a 90Hz refresh rate on Reno 6 Pro 5G while Reno 6 5G also has the same refresh rate. So here, I didn’t get why Pro and non-Pro version has the same refresh rate and same display quality.
As Reno 6 Pro 5G is priced at Rs 39,990, it should have launched with a 120Hz refresh rate.
By the way, the 90Hz refresh rate works good with the phone and I haven’t face any problem while switching between apps or playing games. The display is also visible under the sunlight, overall, OPPO has used good quality AMOLED display.
Cameras
The OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G comes with a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP Ultra-wide, and 2MP macro, and 2MP depth while 32MP selfie shooter. The Rear camera can shoot videos up to [email protected] while the front can shoot up to [email protected]
The phone has some of the best camera features which can be very helpful for those who record videos every day.
It has Bokeh Flare Portrait Video, this is the same feature that can be found in DSLRs. By the way, an instant of photos, now you can also get Bokeh on videos too. The good thing is, it can also be used for the front camera.
I was a bit consensus about the accuracy of Bokeh on videos because this is shorts of a mid-budget smartphone but surprisingly, the videos come out really good.
Also, the same feature is available on Reno 6 5G and its works the same, there is nothing new in the Pro version.
Everything is good about the camera, so where is the cost-cutting? the OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G doesn’t have OIS which means, videos may come out a bit shaky.
OPPO has marketed this phone as a Camera phone but the lack of OIS is not a good thing for camera-centric smartphones.
Coming to image quality, the 64MP primary sensor does take good images whether its low-light or good lighting, OPPO has done a good job with cameras.
That 8MP ultra-wide lens also takes good images but I would recommend you to not use an ultra-wide lens at night because the images lose out on details. Now, that 2MP+2MP sensors are just for marketing, so let’s ignore it.
OPPO is known for selfies, so you don’t have to worry about the front camera but if you expecting the images to come out natural then you will be disappointed. The 32MP front camera does take good images but sometimes, selfies do come out soft which won’t be a huge problem for most of the users.
Overall, considering the price tag, I would have loved to see OIS support because we also have OnePlus Nord 2 5G and this phone has OIS support and a better chipset too.
Before you order OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G from Flipkart, make sure you Read OnePlus Nord 2 5G review because it has also the best camera Under Rs 30,000.
Performance
OPPO Reno 6 Pro is powered by MediaTek MT6893 Dimensity 1200 5G (6 nm) processor and it’s running on Color OS 13.3-based on Android 11.
We have seen this same processor in RealMe X7 Max 5G, OnePlus Nord 2 5G, POCO F3 GT 5G and now we have the same SoC on Reno 6 Pro 5G.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC is a powerful processor and there won’t be any kind of problem while playing games or even using a 90Hz refresh rate all the time.
Also, Color OS is well optimized by OPPO and I haven’t face any frame drop or lags while switching between apps.
By the way, Reno 6 Pro 5G is not a gaming smartphone and it also doesn’t have features like gaming triggers or 480Hz touch sampling rate. So if you want a proper gaming phone then do take look at ROG Phone 5 or POCO F3 GT.
Coming to 5G, the Reno 6 Pro 5G does have 5G supports which includes n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n28, n38, n40, n41, n77, and n78.

Overall, there won’t be any kind of problem while doing anything on Reno 6 Pro 5G. The SoC power enough to handle almost everything but still, it is not as powerful as Snapdragon 888 SoC.
Battery and Audio Quality
The OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G comes with a 4,500 mAh battery with 65W wired fast charging support. The battery will last for a day even with heavy use because the device is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 and this is battery efficient chipset.
In the end, it depends on users by users, if the users use the phone for continuous 8 hours then the phone will be dead in less than a day.
Coming to audio, the Reno 6 Pro 5G only has a single speaker which is not a good thing because this is a 40k smartphone, so it would have been better if OPPO had added Stereo Speakers
Still, the audio is loud but it’s not as good as the 40k price tag.
When it comes to calling, the phones have a Secondary noise cancellation microphone which does help a lot while calling.
Conclutin: Buy or Not?
The OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G does offer a lot at a 40k price tag but it also loses out on OIS Stereo speakers and a 120Hz refresh rate. Still, Reno 6 Pro 5G is a solid offering from OPPO and it’s worth looking at.
If you ask me, I would say, it is better to go with Reno 6 5G because there is no huge difference in specifications but still if you want slightly better cameras then do considering the Pro version.
Advantages of OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G
The OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G has a 90Hz HDR+ AMOLED display, powerful MediaTek MT6893 1200 SoC, eleven 5G bands, massive 65W fast charging support, and Bokeh Flare Portrait Video.
Disadvantages of OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G
The OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G does have a good camera but it doesn’t have OIS support while the phone is priced at Rs 39,999 and still, there is no 120hz refresh rate screen. It also doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack, SD-card slot, and no Stereo Speakers.

I am in confusion between the Nord 2 and oppo reno 6 I heard both have heating issues but the two blasts on Nord 2 raises its concern. Since it has a 65w charger battery isn’t a bigger concern here, It would be good if there is a proper camera comparison between these two But both looks similar and sleek might use a skin rather than going for a case, Mostly it would be either Orange sandstone or Hive skin from Gadgetshieldz.
