OnePlus made an iPad, its looks and feels the same as Apple’s Premium iPads but the OnePlus Pad is available for under Rs 40000 which is a good price for what you’re getting.
It’s safe to say “The OnePlus Pad is the best Android tablet available Under Rs 40,000”.
OnePlus Pad Review
The OnePlus Pad is definitely worth buying as it offers everything that an Rs. 37,999 tablet should have, including quad speakers, a powerful processor, solid build quality, superfast charging, and a bright display with Dolby Vision support. The only downside is that this is an Android tablet and not an iPad (technically, not a con).
Now, I’m not saying that Apple Makes the best Tablets but if you’re using an iPhone and even a Mac then it makes sense to consider the iPad over any other tablet.
However, if you’re already using an Android and if you wanted to buy a tablet under Rs 40000 then you won’t get a better option than the OnePlus Pad.
Design and Build Quality
The OnePlus Pad features a sleek metal unibody design, weighing in at 552 grams. Despite its solid build quality, the tablet doesn’t feel too heavy in the hand, but extended gaming sessions may cause wrist fatigue.
The back of the tablet has a glossy finish, prone to fingerprints and smudges. So better clean it every day to maintain its look.
On the top right side, you’ll find a power button and charging pins for the OnePlus Stylo pen.
However, the absence of a fingerprint sensor is a bit of a letdown, leaving users to rely on the tablet’s face unlock feature which works well but lacks the convenience of a fingerprint sensor.
The volume buttons are located on the right top side, and four speakers with Dolby Atmos and Vision support are strategically placed for an immersive media experience.
You can also charge your OnePlus Folio Case with the charging pins on the left-middle side.
Overall, the OnePlus Pad is a well-designed tablet that boasts exceptional build quality. It can handle a wide range of tasks, and its weight is manageable for prolonged use. At a price of Rs 37,999, the OnePlus Pad is worth buying for those looking for a reliable tablet without compromising on design or build quality.
Display and Audio Quality
I get it, the OnePlus Pad has an 11.61-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2800 x 2000 pixels resolution and a brightness of Rs 500 nits.
Of course, the AMOLED panel would have been great but then the price would have gone above 50k. Also, it’s not like OnePlus had used cheap quality LCD panels, it’s one of the best you can get under Rs 40000.
Its vibrant and sharper panel will give you a better movie-watching experience or even gaming.
You can also adjust the display colors by going to the display settings. Now, OnePlus Pad does have support for HDR10+ but for some reason, Netflix is not showing the HDR, maybe OnePlus will add this with an OTA update.
The display has an 88.14 Screen-to-Body Ratio which is a huge deal these days, so yes, the tablet doesn’t have huge bezels all around it.
What I’m saying is, “OnePlus Pad does have the LCD display but it’s a better one and you won’t feel like you’re movies or playing games on an LCD panel, yes it’s that good”
On top of that, OnePlus has also added a quad-speaker that comes with Dolby Atmos support. In short, you will get the best possible experience when you plan to watch movies or even YouTube Videos.
Do note, the pad doesn’t have a micro-SD card slot or even a 3.5mm audio jack.
Performance and Software
The OnePlus Pad is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor and runs on OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13.
The good news is that there are no ads in the UI, and OnePlus has promised three years of OS updates and four years of security updates.
However, OnePlus has not been good with update cycles lately, so take their promises with a grain of salt.
If you own a OnePlus smartphone, you will have some exclusive features, such as the ability to copy and paste text between the OnePlus Pad and the smartphone, and to mirror the smartphone.
OnePlus has also promised more features to come in a few months.
While I’m happy with what OnePlus has done with OxygenOS, I would have loved to see Android 12L features.
Don’t get me wrong, OxygenOS is great, but it’s not optimized for tablets yet. There is still work to be done, even though Google has already worked on it with Android 12L.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 provides performance close to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, so whether you’re buying the OnePlus Pad for gaming or not, you won’t face any problems in day-to-day use.
It also has LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage support, which means everything from closing apps to multitasking will feel smooth.
Overall, you will be more than happy with the OnePlus Pad’s performance. However, it would have been better if OnePlus had gone with Android 12L instead of OxygenOS.
Cameras
The OnePlus Pad features a 13MP primary sensor and an 8MP front camera. The rear camera can shoot videos up to [email protected]/60fps and 4k/30fps, while the front camera can shoot at [email protected]
However, it’s important to keep in mind that this is a tablet, so don’t expect top-notch camera performance.
While the front camera is great for video calls, it’s not advisable to use the tablet for taking pictures or shooting videos outdoors, as smartphones and dedicated cameras perform better in those scenarios.
If camera performance is a top priority for you, then it might be worth considering an iPad Pro, which is known for having some of the best cameras on a tablet, but it comes with a significantly higher price tag.
Overall, the OnePlus Pad’s cameras perform well for video calls, but it’s important to manage expectations given that tablets are not typically designed for photography.

Battery Life
The OnePlus Pad comes with a massive 9510mAh battery and supports 67W wired charging.
Surprisingly, OnePlus has provided a 100W charger in the box. Charging the Pad from 0% to 100% with this charger will take around 1.10 hours. However, if you use the Pad while charging, the charging time will vary.
Unfortunately, there is no support for wireless charging. In terms of battery life, you can expect about 8 hours of screen time.
Of course, this can vary from user to user depending on how they use the device.
Nevertheless, with its large battery and fast charging support, the OnePlus Pad should easily last you through a full day of use without any battery-related issues.
