Reasons to buy Nothing Phone (1)
The phone is made for different kinds of users, the phone has a beautiful design, solid build quality, great display quality, and reliable cameras. Other than that, there are tons of reasons to buy Nothing Phone 1, so let’s talk about some of those reasons…
1. Cameras
We have seen smartphones with three and even five cameras but out of all those sensors, only two sensors are useable, the other sensors are added for the showcase.
In the case of Nothing Phone (1),
It has a 50MP primary sensor + 50MP ultra-wide lens while there is a 16MP selfie shooter. So as you can tell, all these sensors are useable in real life…
The images also come out good but still, I noticed that the sensor is trying to boost the colors a little bit, just like all the other smartphones but the good thing is, the image doesn’t come out that saturated like Xiaomi, RealMe, or Vivo Smartphones.

The details are there even under the low lights and Nothing has worked hard on the night mode, the night images also come out good.
The front camera also justifies the price tag, no issue with the dynamic range, it captures clear images.
Overall, yes, Under Rs 40000, the Nothing Phone (1) has a good camera setup and you won’t be disappointed with its performance.
2. Display
The phone comes with a 6.55-inches flexible 120hz OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Nothing has used a good quality panel, so whether you want to play games or watch movies, you will have the best experience.
It also has Widevine L1 support too and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The display is bright too, it has 1300 nits pick the brightness which means, there won’t be any issues while using the smartphone outdoors.
By the way, the phone doesn’t have to have a big bezel which makes this smartphone unique because most Android smartphone under Rs 50000 comes with a huge bottom chin.
3. Design
You already knew this will come,
Now, design is subjective but you can’t deny that the Nothing Phone (1) looks and feels unique compared to any other smartphone.
Lighting on the back can be called gimmicky or useless but it won’t be the same for everyone.
If you ask me, I love those lights. By the way, I don’t know how long I will use the Glyph lights but it looks different…
4. Build
I know, Nothing Phone (1) looks more like iPhone 13 Series which is not a bad thing, it’s a good thing. It would have been a bad thing if Nothing had gone with plastic frames but they didn’t which is another plus point.
The front and back are protected with corning gorilla glass 5 while the frame is made out of Aluminum.
The device also feels premium in the hands.
5. Audio
The stereo speakers are loud too, whether you’re in a crowded place or at home, you will be able to hear everything clearly. There is also 4×4 MIMO Carrier aggregation support, so there won’t be any issue with calling too.
6. Battery Life
We all know that Snapdragon 778+ is battery efficient processor, so the device will last for a long time. Also, Nothing has used the near Stock Android which will help a lot in battery life.

By the way, Nothing didn’t include a charger in the box, you will have to use Quick Charge 4.0 certified charger otherwise you won’t be able to take the advantage of 33W charging.
There is also support for 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse charging support.
7. Software
This will be the selling point of Nothing Phone (1), the device doesn’t come with single third-party applications and there are no ads in the UI either.
The UI also feels smooth, with no frame drop whatsoever while the 120Hz refresh rate will make everything perfect. By the way, Nothing has promised the 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates.
Reasons to Not Buy Nothing Phone (1)
Just like everything else, nothing is perfect in this world. So let’s see some of the reasons to Not Buy Nothing Phone 1.
1. Performance
It’s the best option if you’re looking for a balanced smartphone but if you wanted a proper gaming smartphone then you should stay away from it because the Snapdragon 778G is not that powerful to handle heavy games like Genshin Impact or even Fortnite…
Now, we have seen Snapdragon 778G on many smartphones and the new Snapdragon 778G+ will give the same performance, Qualcomm has just changed the name but inside, everything is the same.
By the way, just for Nothing, Qualcomm has added wireless charging support in Snapdragon 778G+ but other than that, it’s a decent processor for balance use.
In short, if you’re a gamer then it’s a straight answer, just stay away from the Nothing Phone 1 and consider the IQOO Neo 6 5G which is available at Rs 28,999 on Amazon.
In direct words the Nothing Phone 1 is a balanced smartphone, so don’t buy it for heavy gaming.
2. No Charger in the Box
I get it, Nothing wanted to go after iPhones but they should have provided the charger in the box because this is their first smartphone.
The phone supports a Quick Charge 4.0 charger, so if you have that one at home then it’s good otherwise you will have to buy a new one.
Again, this won’t be the reason to not buy but if you’re tight budget then paying extra Rs 2500 will hurt a bit. Also, if you can pay that extra amount then this reason doesn’t apply.
3. No 3.5mm Audio Jack
Nothing also sells the Nothing Ear (1), so you can’t expect them to add a 3.5mm Audio jack but for gaming, it’s a necessary feature.
Also, I have already said that don’t buy this device for gaming but still, if you don’t play games all the time then buy Type-C to 3.5mm dongle.
Verdict
Now, you can’t find the perfect device, you will have to sacrifice one or two features but in the end, you will have to ask yourself, which two or three features I want the most and if you can find those features in Nothing Phone (1) then just order the phone otherwise, this is not the only smartphone available under Rs 40000 in India.
