Motorola G73 5G Review with Pros, Cons, and Verdict
Motorola is back with another stock beauty and now, it looks like, they need another selling point because Stock Android is there but what about everything else?
So let’s find out in this Motorola G73 5G review whether it’s worth Rs 18,999 price tag or just another Motorola Device with Stock Android.
Motorola G73 5G Price in India
The Motorola G73 5G is priced at Rs 18,999 for 8GB of Ram and 128GB storage. The device comes in Lucent White & Midnight Blue and will go for sale on 16th March 2023 at noon via Flipkart.
Motorola G73 5G Review
Yes, the Motorola G73 5G is worth buying but it does come with some flows like an LCD display, plastic build, average cameras, and only 1 year of OS update while the rest of the device is good.
The selling point of Motorola’s device is Stock Android Experience and it needs to be shifted toward cameras.
Don’t get me wrong, Motorola is improving their camera day by day but not by huge numbers. For the price of Rs 18999, the cameras don’t justify the price tag.

Overall, these days, we don’t have good smartphones under Rs 20000, so if you’re okay with decent cameras and LCD display then do consider the Moto G73 5G.
Motorola G73 5G Pros and Cons
|Stock Android Experience||LCD Display|
|Solid Battery Life||Plastic Build|
|12 5G bands||Only 1 Year OS Update|
|NFC Support||Cameras Needs Improvement|
|Added 3.5mm Audio Jack||No In-Display Fingerprint sensor|
|Smooth 120Hz Refresh Rate|
|Latest Bluetooth 5.0 Version|
|Loud and Clear Stereo Speakers|
|Good Option for Gaming|
The Motorola G72 5G comes with a 6.50-inches 120Hz LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels while it has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor due to the LCD panel.
The display brightness is good enough to use the phone outdoors, so you won’t face any kind of problem if you want to watch movies or play games outdoors.
For display protection, Motorola has used Panda Glass but Motorola didn’t mention which version they have used, so can’t comment on the durability unless and until I break the device.
Also, the phone has a plastic frame as well as a plastic back. So yes, the phone does feel kind of cheap when you first hold it but when you get used to it, you will forget about the build quality because you will, of course, use the case.
The build quality is kind of mehhh.
Overall, I feel, Motorola should have given the AMOLED panel because this is a 19k smartphone and not a 15k device. I get it, they also have Motorola G82 5G at a 20k price tag, in which case, this phone shouldn’t have existed in the first place.
The Mediatek Dimensity 930 is a new and improved chipset from MediaTek and it does perform well in day-to-day usage.
Now, it’s not a flagship processor but it tries its best to deliver the best possible performance. So whether you want to play games or use social media continuously, you won’t face any problems as the phone will work like butter.
The phone runs on MyUX based on Android 13. The MyUX is the fancy name but the device has Stock Android while there are no ads in the UI but it does come with a few pre-installed apps like Facebook.
With Android 13, Motorola has added a few apps like Parental control and even Motorola Security which is a very useful feature combined into a single app.

The funny part is, Motorola G73 5G will only get 1 year of OS update which means, the device will get Android 14 and that’s it, no OS update after that. Also, the device will get 3 years of security updates too.
For the sake of someone whether its users or even competition, Motorola should have provided at least 2 years of OS updates which that’s what other brands are providing.
Also, Motorola is slow when it comes to OS updates, so it would have been better to just provided 2 years of OS updates rather than 1.
So overall, there won’t be any problems with performance or even with software, the only problem is OS updates.
Guess what, the Motorola G73 5G doesn’t have the 2MP+2MP sensors, it only has a 50MP primary sensor, and 8MP ultra-wide lens while there is a 16MP selfie shooter on the front.
The rear cameras can shoot videos at [email protected]/60fps while the front can only shoot at [email protected]
Finally, brands are seeing that 2MP sensors are not needed to make good cameras.
The 50MP primary sensor is optimized well to take good images under good lighting conditions but when it comes to low lights, it does suffer a bit.
For example, if you’re taking pictures of your friends at night and there is light behind their heads then the cameras will have a hard time adjusting the lights and sometimes it just messes up the photos.
What I’m saying is, you can’t really trust 100% on the Moto G73’s cameras, so you will have to click more than 1 photo.

The 8MP Ultra-wide lens is there and Motorola has added depth and even a macro sensor within the sensor which is a nice touch.
Again, the same problems, the sensor provides softer images in daylight and even at night. Now, the same problems are there in almost all the budget ultra-wide lenses, and no one is doing anything about it, sad but true.
So my advice would be, to use an Ultra-wide lens when you needed the most, and don’t open the sensor every single time.
That 16MP sensor is there and I have a feeling that you won’t like it because the sensor doesn’t provide saturated colors, just like Realme, Vivo, OPPO, and even Xiaomi.
Motorola has tried something new and I liked it because I love natural images rather than adding colors to faces.
Still, Motorola has provided filters that you can use to make yourself look better.
Talking about the videos, no OIS, and the cameras rely on EIS which doesn’t do much. So if you wanted to buy a phone for videos then kindly look for better devices.

No problems when it comes to the audio side of things, the Moto G73 has stereo speakers along with a 3.5mm Audio port.
The device has two microphones and they work fine, so whether you want to take video calls or voice calls, you will be happy with it.
The speakers are loud and clear, so yes, Motorola has done a good job when it comes to audio.
No Changes, still that 30W wired charging support where other brands are shifted to 60W.
The 5,000mAh battery will last for a day if you’re a normal user but if you gonna play games and do all kinds of other stuff then you will have to charge the Moto G73 5g twice a day.
This is that time when 60W would have helped but here, be happy with 30W.
