Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G Review
Yes, the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G is worth buying but it’s not for everyone, the device offers almost everything except good cameras which is a deal breaker because when you pay Rs 42999, you expect a flagship-level experience that Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G fails to deliver.
Now, the cameras are not that bad but for Rs 42999 smartphone, it could have been better.
The Snapdragon 888+ 5G is not a perfect processor, it throttles a lot when playing games for hours. It doesn’t heat much while using social media or watching movies but when you play games like PUBG New State or even COD Mobile, the rear side gets hot.

The display is excellent, you will love the P-OLED curved panel while the 68W charging speed helps a lot.
Considering price and specs, the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G is a solid smartphone but it could have been the best smartphone if it was launched under Rs 40000, now at Rs 42999, it’s a bit pricey which is kind of okay because it doesn’t have any ads and offers clean Android experience.

Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G: Display
The Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G comes with a 144Hz 6.55-inches P-OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and 1100 nits Pick Brightness. It also has a 360Hz touch sampling rate and 402 PPI density while it’s HDR10+ ready panel.
In recent years, Motorola is doing extremely well, especially on the display side of things, they have even provided OLED displays in Rs 15000 smartphones.
So yes, if you love displays, just like me then you won’t find a better smartphone than Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G for Under Rs 50000 in India.
The 1100 nits brightness will ensure that you will see everything from text to even videos under extreme sunlight while the 10-bit below will provide more puncher colors.

The front and back are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 while the frame is made out of Aluminum. This will give you all the feelings that you always wanted.
In short, the device feels and looks premium, especially the Solar Gold color.
The back has a matt finish, so the device won’t get dirty at all.
Motorola has also added Wide Vine L1 Support which means the device can stream FHD+ content on OTT apps but for some reason, I wasn’t able to watch HDR content on Netflix, so I hope Motorola fixes this issue soon.
Overall, the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G has a great P-OLED Panel and you will more than happy with its quality.
Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G: Performance
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus is not a stable processor, Motorola has worked on a processor to stabilize it but still, while performing heavy tasks, the devices do get hot.
Now, it’s not Motorola’s problem, its Qualcomm’s problem, and Motorola already knew that Snapdragon 888 Plus is a stable processor but as this is an old chipset, Motorola did manage to get it at a chapter price compared to the newly launched Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus which is improved and stable chip.
This was the reason why Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G is available at Rs 42999 while Motorola Edge 30 Ultra 5G is available at Rs 59,999.
It also has 13 5G Bands which include n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n40, n41, n66, n77, and n78.
The device runs on Android 12 out of the box which is not okay because Android 13 is already out for about a month, so it would have been better if the device had Android 13 out of the box.
Now because of this, Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G will only get Android 13 and 14 Update.
You already know that Motorola phones don’t have ads or bloatware, so you will get a Pixel-like experience with some Motorola feature on top.
Now, if you’re the number guy then I will add the performance score below, for your reference…
- AnTuTu: 827929 (v9)
- GeekBench: 3458 (v5.1)
- GFXBench: 62fps (ES 3.1 onscreen)
The Scores are amazing and it does reflate in real life too but when you push all the limits, the device does throttle a bit. You will notice this issue when you use this device under sunlight, it’s a not huge problem but it’s there.
Improved Ready For 5.3
If you have used Motorola Edge 20 Series smartphone then you will know about the Ready For PC feature that lets you clone the Motorola smartphone on a windows PC, just like how Samsung does with Galaxy Dex.
Now with the new Improved Ready For 5.3, you have a dedicated entertainment option where you can watch movies or TV shows on a PC or smart TV by connecting with Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G.

You know, how some of the OTT platforms disable the screen-cast and you only see a black screen when cast movies from mobile to smart TV, that problem has been solved by Motorola in the new Ready For 5.3 version.
The new version has also improved the connectivity and it’s smoother than before.
Motorola Edge 30 Fusion: Cameras
Motorola is handing toward Vivo and OPPO way…
Just like how Vivo and OPPO adds pre-applied beauty mode, the same is done by Motorola in Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G.
I have never seen whiter images on any of Motorola Devices but looks like, this is the starting point and we will see this image processing in upcoming Moto devices.
By the way,
The Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G has 50MP primary sensor + OIS, 13MP ultra-wide lens, and 2MP depth sensor while there is a 32MP selfie shooter on the front.
The rear camera can shoot video at [email protected]/60fps, [email protected], and [email protected] while the front can shoot at [email protected] and [email protected]
Only the primary sensor has OIS support while other sensors rely on EIS.
The video optimization is good, I didn’t find huge shakiness while shooting videos with a primary sensor but of course, if you’re running and taking video at the same time then the video will have a little bit of shakiness.
So yes, Motorola needs to improve the OIS further, so we can get better stabilization when shooting videos.
Again, Motorola has changed the image processing for the front camera because unlike Motorola Edge 30 Pro 5G, the 30 Fuson 5G is producing whiter images while sacrificing the details.
The images are also coming out a bit saturated.
The 50MP primary sensor’s OIS does help when taking images under low light while the dedicated night mode produces bright images.
Now, when you take images of human skin and zoom on it, you will see softness and a bit of noise.
The sensor is also trying to saturate the colors while missing out on details, now, it doesn’t happen when you take images under good lighting, the problem occurs under low lights.
This is disappointing because this is Rs 42,999 and it shouldn’t have this kind of problem even under low lights.
In short, the primary sensor will take good images under good lights but the same can’t be said for low lights.
Motorola has also improved the camera app but still, I will say it again, they should change the design and make a new app because the default camera app is not good at all.
Coming to 13MP ultra-wide lens,
This sensor provides good images under good lighting, and no issues with dynamic range too. Now, you won’t get as good images as the primary sensor with an Ultra-wide lens because of the smaller sensor size.
So try not to use an ultra-wide sensor at night.
Also, just ignore the 2MP depth sensor because it was added for design and not for your use.
Again, as I have said, you will love the front camera because it takes whiter images, so you don’t have to apply the filter when posting images on Instagram.
Now, if you’re like me, who doesn’t like white images and wanted natural color tons then you can always use the GCam whenever it’s available for Moto Edge 30 Fusion 5G.
In conclusion, the camera could have been better, Motorola should have worked on the rear as well as the front camera to provide natural and details images rather than whiter and saturated images.

Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G: Battery
The device has a 4,400 mAh battery that supports 68W fast charging. It will take about 10 minutes to charge from 0% to 50%.
The battery will last for about a day with normal usage, you will end up with a 10% battery at around 6 PM but if you’re a mixed user then expect to charge this device twice a day.
Now, this won’t be a big problem because Motorola has provided a 68W charger in the box.
By the way, the Moto Edge 30 Fusion 5G doesn’t support wireless charging.
Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 5G: Audio
It has everything that you’re thinking about,
From Carrier Aggregation support, stereo speakers, secondary noise cancellation microphone, and Bluetooth 5.2 for better connectivity.
The Stereo Speakers have Dolby Atmos support which means, you will experience the best sound while watching movies or even watching YouTube videos.
Overall, you will be more than happy with the audio quality and even with call quality too.
