Motorola Edge 20 Pro Review
Motorola Edge 20 Pro is by far the best smartphone available under 40k which offers a powerful processor, great camera setup, solid build, good battery life, and pure stock experience. Overall, considering the price tag, yes, Motorola Edge 20 Pro is worth buying and its value for money device.
The phone does have its Pros and Cons but even after that, at 37k, one should not complain about the device.
The key feature of this phone is stock UI. So if you want clean and smooth and secured UI then you should consider the Moto Edge 20 Pro.
Also, different users will have different requirements and that is why let’s first talk about its Pros and Cons.

576Hz Touch Sampling Rate | |
Ready For PC Implementation |
That was the Pros and Cons of Motorola Edge 20 Pro, now let’s deep dive into the smartphone and find out what Motorola has to offer.
Motorola Edge 20 Pro Display Quality
The Moto Edge 20 Pro comes with a 6.70-inches 144Hz 10bit OLED display with a 576Hz touch sampling rate.
This is everything you can ask for in the flagship smartphone and Motorola has provided everything at 37k.
This display brightness is also good but still, I feel an instant of 450 nits, Motorola could have provided 1000 nits for a better experience.
It also has Widevine L1 support that means, there won’t be any kind of problem while watching FHD+ content on OTT apps.
Motorola has also gone with glass back this time, on the front side it has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and on the backside, it’s the same Corning Gorilla Glass 5 while the frame is made out of Aluminium.
By the way, Snapdragon 870 SoC is powerful enough to handle a 144Hz refresh rate, so there won’t be frame drop while using the smartphone in day to day life.
Overall, Motorola Edge 20 Pro has the best display quality and there won’t be any problem whether you want to play games or watch movies.
Motorola Edge 20 Pro Cameras
This is where I feel, Motorola has done a better job than Motorola Edge 20.
No doubt, Moto Edge 20 has a good camera but it needs optimization but that’s not the case with Moto Edge 20 Pro.
The Motorola Edge 20 Pro comes with 108MP primary sensor, 16MP ultra-wide, and 8MP telephoto which has OIS. On the front, it has a 32MP selfie shooter which works fine.
Motorola has worked on the camera which can be seen in the image quality. The colours pop out very well along with cleaner looking images.
Just like the non-Pro version, the Pro version doesn’t have OIS, so if you’re that person who wanted to buy Moto Edge 20 Pro for Videoshoot then you will be disappointed.
The videos do come out well, with no issue with dynamic range and the colour is also well balanced but when you shoot video, the footage will come out shaky.
Motorola has added EIS but that is processed by the software, so don’t expect much.
By the way, the 8MP telephoto lens does have OIS which means, when zoom, images won’t turn out blurry. Other than that, no OIS on the primary and ultra-wide lenses.
The colour reproduction is also well-balanced. So yes, the images do come out close to nature which is another plus point for cameras.
The 5x telephoto lens also does its job and that OIS help a lot when you shoot videos or even while taking images.
Also, Motorola has added a third microphone alongside the rear camera which will give better audio when you’re shooting videos in crowded places.
Here comes the weaker part, night photography…
Yes, just like Moto Edge 20 (review), Pro also has the same problem. Motorola has worked the Pro version to make images good at night but still, considering the price tag, night photography should have been better.
One OTA update can fix this problem but it depends on Motorola.
Also, that 32MP selfie camera is doing a great job. Here I feel, Motorola has polished the front camera on the Pro model because both Pro & non-Pro has the same sensor but the image quality is different.
The device also has a macro mode which is added to the Stock Camera app. Also, if you want, you can use the GCam app on Moto Edge 20 Pro and it works fine, no issue there.
Overall, whether its primary, Ultra-wide or even telephoto lens, all the lens works fine. But still, night photography needs optimization.
Also, when you’re taking photos at night, make sure to hold the device for a second because if you move the device immediately after taking images then the photos will come out blurry.
This is not a sensor issue, it’s a software issue that can be fixed by an OTA update.
Other than that, the Moto Edge 20 Pro has a good camera setup and it does justify the 37k price tag.
Motorola Edge 20 Pro Performance
The Motorola Edge 20 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC and running on Android 11.
The phone is running on stock UI that means, you won’t get the pre-installed app, ads, or anything else. It will be a clean software experience.
Now, Motorola has added tons of options for customization. For example, gaming mode, icon settings, Moto feature and much more.
We have seen Snapdragon 870 SoC on Mi 11X 5G and some of the other smartphones but one thing is for sure, there won’t be any kind of problem while playing games or even while using the smartphone in a day to day life.

Talking about 5G, this is a true 5G smartphone as it supports 11 5G bands which means whenever 5G launches in India, the device will be able to take advantage of the 5G network.
In short, Snapdragon 870 SoC is powerful enough to handle almost everything. So don’t worry about performance on top of that, it’s running on Stock UI, so everything will feel smooth like butter.
Motorola Edge 20 Pro Audio Quality
I don’t know why but even in the Pro model, Motorola went with only a single speaker. The speaker quality is good but considering the price tag, it should have been stereo speakers.
The Moto Edge 20 Pro does have a secondary noise cancellation microphone and also, it has three microphones. So the call quality will be better.
Overall, don’t expect much from that single speaker but you will be more than happy with call quality.
Motorola Edge 20 Pro Battery Life
The Motorola Edge 20 Pro comes with a 4,500 mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. The battery size is a bit small compared to its competition but the snapdragon 870 SoC is a good processor and it will give you better battery life.
Also, the stock UI will help. Now keep in mind, the phone also has a 144Hz refresh rate, so if you keep the settings at 144Hz then the battery will be over sooner but if you use Auto then expect the better life to be better.
So if you’re a casual user, expect the single-day battery life but if you’re a heavy user who plays lots of gaming, social media, taking photos & videos and much more then you have to charge the device two times a day.
Even after that, I feel, Moto Edge 20 Pro has good battery life and one should not complain about the battery.
Verdict
I think you already know what to do but still,
If you want the overall best smartphone then yes, Motorola Edge 20 Pro is the best option but if you don’t like clean stock UI and if you want more customization then you can take look at RealMe GT 5G or Mi 11 Pro 5G.
Also, keep in mind, the Moto Edge 20 Pro doesn’t have OIS or SD card slot or 3.5mm audio jack and night photography needs improvement.
If you ask me, yes, I do recommend this smartphone to those users who want to buy a new smartphone under Rs 40000 price range but if you can spend more than 50k then take look at this list.
