IQOO Z6 Pro 5G Review with Pros and Cons – Worst Upgrade
IQOO has launched some of the best smartphones in India at a good price but this doesn’t seem good compared to the last-gen IQOO Z5 5G. So let’s go deep down and find out whether it’s worth the 24k price or not.
IQOO Z6 Pro 5G Price in India
The IQOO Z6 Pro 5G price in India starts from 23,999 for 6GB of Ram and 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 24,999 while another 12GB RAM + 256GB storage is available at Rs 28,999. The device comes in Legion Sky and Phantom Dusk color options.

IQOO Z6 Pro 5G Review
The IQOO Z6 Pro 5G has its flows but still, considering the price tag, the phone is worth buying but it’s not made for everyone, its a gaming smartphone that happens to have decent cameras, superfast charging support, AMOLED display, solid build quality and it’s available at Rs 23,999 which is a good price for what IQOO is offering.
Keep in mind, that the phone doesn’t have a stereo speaker, there is no 3.5mm Audio jack, no SD card slot, no NFC, comes with the good old waterdrop notch, and it’s made out of plastic.

If you ask me, I won’t recommend the IQOO Z6 Pro 5G, just because it has Snapdragon 778G processor because we have quite of few smartphones with the same processor under Rs 25000 too.
Still, if you’re okay with the flows and you want that 66W fast charging, 90Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 778G Processor, and you’re okay with the Fun touch OS then go for it.
You can also consider the RealMe 9 Pro Plus 5G, Xiaomi 11i 5G, RealMe 9 SE 5G, and even IQOO Z5 5G.

Display Quality
No Doubt, the IQOO Z6 Pro 5G has a good display but that waterdrop notch messes up everything, I mean this is 2022 and still, we’re getting old designs which is not acceptable.
By the way, IQOO Z5 5G (review) had the punch Hole display whereas IQOO Z6 Pro 5G has a waterdrop notch. Also, the IQOO Z6 Pro 5G has a bigger chin at the bottom which doesn’t give that premium feel even after paying almost 25k.
The IQOO Z6 Pro 5G comes with a 6.44-inches 90Hz AMOLED display with the protection of Schott Xensation glass while the back and frame are made out of plastic.

IQOO has added 1300 nits pick brightness which is the highest compared to any other smartphone under Rs 25000 in India. So there won’t be any kind of issues while using this smartphone outdoors.
There is also support for Widevine L1 which means, you will be able to stream FHD+ content on OTT platforms.
Overall, for the price of Rs 23999, I would have loved to see a punch hole notch, so the phone does have a good quality display but that front design messes up everything.
Performance
Let me just say thins, the Snapdragon 778G is a well-optimized processor and it will give the best possible performance whether it’s in gaming or in battery life. The problem is the software, the IQOO Z6 Pro 5G runs on Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12.
Talking about myself, I’m not a big fan of Fun touch OS, Vivo has improved the OS but still, this is not good software for day-to-day use.
Even after having a great processor, sometimes, the UI doesn’t feel smooth as it should.

Back to the Fun Touch OS, the UI does have ads that can be disabled but not 100%. Also, there is Hot apps and Hot Games folder available in the UI which can be disabled but the thing is, even after paying 25k, you have to remove the junk which is not a good user experience.
I have always said, UI is a personal choice, so if you’re okay with Fun Touch OS and you feel, IQOO can improve the UI with OTA updates then go for it.
For those who are wondering, the device has 7 5G bands which will be good enough to use the 5G network whenever it launches in India.
Overall, the performance is good, you will be more than happy if your end goal is to play games, that said, let’s talk about the cameras…
Cameras
Don’t get me wrong, IQOO has done a great job with the camera but it doesn’t look like a 24k smartphone camera, they have used good sensors but its needs to be optimized and if they do it properly then there won’t be anything to complain about.
The IQOO Z6 Pro 5G has 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 2MP macro while there is a 16MP selfie shooter. Both the rear as well as the front camera can shoot videos at 1080p@30fps.
The phone doesn’t have OIS support, it relies on EIS which also doesn’t work the best.
So if you’re that user who loves to take videos while walking then this won’t be the best smartphone because the videos don’t come out as stable as they should. IQOO needs to work on the video side of things because it feels the same as IQOO Z5 5G.
Talking about the rear camera, IQOO has added all the features like night mode, fillers, and many more. Night mode is a bit improved compared to last-gen but still, there is some work to do.
The 64MP sensor also does great in good lighting conditions but when it comes to night, the image turned out a bit sharp. Also, don’t use, an ultra-wide lens at night because you won’t get the details and the image won’t be usable.
By the way, at daylight, IQOO Z6 Pro 5G performs very well, the images come out with details, and there is no issue with dynamic range too.

IQOO is a sub-brand of Vivo, so the images will come out a bit saturated and I don’t think, users will mind this because most of the users like saturated colors compared to natural colors when it comes to the cameras.
That 8MP ultra-wide also takes good images under good lighting but when it comes to low lights, the sensor suffers a bit, so what I’m saying is, don’t use the ultra-wide lens at night, try to use the primary sensor for better results.
Also, that 2MP sensor is added for marketing only, so don’t expect anything from it.
Coming to the 16MP selfie shooter, is a well-implemented sensor but still, it needs to be o[optimized. As usual, the selfies come out a bit white as we have seen in most of the budget Vivo phones.
Overall, for the price of Rs 23999, IQOO has done a good job but it’s not good enough for Rs 23999 smartphone. This is a good gaming smartphone but it’s not the best camera smartphone.
Audio Quality
This is where I feel, IQOO didn’t do well because IQOO Z5 5G had the dual speaker and even a 3.5mm Audio Jack but some have been removed from IQOO Z6 Pro 5G.
So yes, the audio is not that loud and if you’re in a public place then you will need to use earphones to hear because the single speaker is not loud enough.
Now, talking about calling, the IQOO Z5 5G has two microphones, one at the Top and the Bottom. It also has carrier aggregation support. In short, no issue with the calling but the sou8nd is not the best compared to its price.
Battery Life
Here, there won’t be any kind of problems because the Snapdragon 778G is a well-optimized processor and it will give the best possible battery life.
If you’re a casual user then the battery should last for 1.5 days but if you’re a heavy user then you can always use the 66W charger which is provided in the box.
By the way, IQOO Z6 Pro 5G has a 4700mAh battery with 66W fast charging support, the phone will take about 18 minutes to charge from 0% to 50%.
